Stock motor??? Power adder???
On a stock motor with 3.42's a 28" tall tire will actually make your car slower. I would stick with a 26" tall tire or go with some steeper gears.

Even with 4.10's, as long as you are not FI, I think the 26's would be just fine. I would go with a 275/50R15. I ran those on stock gear spraying a 150 shot and never came close to maxing out 4th in the quarter.
4.10's, NA, and 26's would be a good combo.
