difference between tire sizes
whats the difference between a 215/70r14 and a 215/60r14? I have the 70r14 now but want to get a drag radial thats 60r14.
thanks. its the bf goodrich radial t/a g-force if your curious. the el camino limits me on tire size If i keep it for any length of time its gonna get tubed.

There is a tire calculator in the sticky up top that will show you the size . . .
But FYI. Tire size broken down, We will use a 275/40ZR17 as an example:
275 = is the section width, or the overall width of the tire in millimeters.
40 = is the aspect ratio, or the overall size of the sidewall in respect of a percentage of the tread width, meaning for this exaple the side wall is 40% of 275 millimeters.
Z = Speed rating
R = Radial
17 = diameter of the wheel.
So the tires your are considering are shorter that what is installed on the car.
