getting ready to order tires need input
car is street only , no track , not a daily driver either... mt dr or nitto 555r's??? car is also dropped prokit and konis.... running 275's all around as of now but want 285's in the rear...plan to order them this wkend... TT 2's 9.5

I suspect you will find 285s in short supply, I know I have.
AFAIK, the MTs (ET radial streets?) are a softer compound than the Nittos. But the Nittos are rated to wear better and handle better in the rain.
FWIW, I ran the Nitto 555Rs and found them too hard (not enough traction for 400 rwhp), so I sold them. I am going for the MT ET Street Radials now. JMHO.

If it was a DD I would say Nittos.... but since it seems like your car is a once in a while or Sunday driver I would go with the MTs. Reason being the MTs will hook better on those once in a while drives..... but if you did DD the car the Nittos will serve a decent purpose for traction and a lot better then the MTs when it comes to tread life.
