Drunk Driver Forgets Camaro Has Brakes, Slams Into Brake Shop

Friendly reminder to never drink and drive, but especially if it is something as sacred as a Camaro

A 21-year old Alabama man has been arrested and charged with a DUI following an high-speed frenzy, according to a report by WPSA 7 (a subsidiary of CBS 17).

Jaderric Freeman lost control of his car after contacting a nearby vehicle. The Camaro then hit curb and launched itself clear across a parking lot like Superman and crashed right through the garage door of a nearby Brakes 4 Less shop in Greenville, South Carolina. The dramatic video above is truly eye-opening.

Not surprisingly, the Camaro then smashed into a few other vehicles inside, causing loads more damage. What is surprising is that Freeman, despite going at such an insanely-high rate of speed, got out and fled. Without injury.

Camaro Smashes through Brakes 4 Less

According to Joseph Lehecka, District Manager of Brakes 4 Less, the rest of the security footage (not shown here) shows that he ran out of the building shortly after crash.

“When he hit the first car his side airbags and all that were already deployed before he hit our building, so he was wrapped in that cocoon as he was jumping,” Lehecka told WPSA 7.

It’s sort of hard to see, given the very noisy quality of the footage, but you can just barely see what looks like a deployed airbag. Further details are scant, however the Greenville Police report indicated that Freeman was captured and charged with a DUI, and will likely face a slew of other charges. It is unclear how what the total cost of all the damage is, but we’d imagine it’s quite high.

As for Freeman, let’s just say that drink was probably the most expensive libation he’ll ever pay for.
