Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 455 Super Duty Needs a New Home
Before writing this post, I had never heard of the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 455 Super Duty. I had heard of the Firebird Trans Am, and I knew that it once came with a 455 big block, but never heard of the Super Duty. I should have been paying much more attention to Pontiac.
What we have here is a 1974 version of the Super Duty. A 455 cubic inch motor, 7.5Ls of displacement, and a quarter mile that was blitzed in just 13.71 seconds in 1973. Only 212 Trans Am 455 Super Dutys were built due to the burgeoning oil crisis that was sweeping the nation. This makes the Trans Am 455 Super Duty extremely rare.
This particular Trans Am 455 Super Duty is heading to the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction in two weeks on the 24th of September. Our guess, it’s going to go for quite a lot of money due to its rarity and for it having only 9,500 original miles on the clock. What do you all think? Will it be a show stopper?
