It is going to be the last car you expect to go under ten-seconds in the quarter-mile. It’s the 1997 to 2011 Volkswagen New Beetle, you know, the one that poorly represented the classic Beetle by being front-wheel-drive and seen as a college chick car.

Sure, there are some you need to watch out for with the turbo model we got here in the U.S. and the RSi version sold in Europe, but a majority of them were bland and horrible. However, this bright orange New Beetle isn’t very bland at all.

This 2005 version is actually still streetable with power windows and air conditioning much like it originally had, but that’s where it stops. This Beetle is capable of pulling wheelies as it flies down the 1320 in just nine-seconds at 150-MPH.

It does this thanks to a 555-cubic-inch Chevrolet Big Block, by itself. However, to get the wheels into the air and make the fans happy, nitrous is injected for more power and a front-wheels high attitude.
