IS300 Gets 480 hp Turbo LS Swap
The LSX gets swapped into everything. We wouldn’t be surprised to see one dropped into a tricycle. Still, every now and then there’s a swap that makes us raise an eyebrow or two. This IS 300 swap is definitely one of those.
It’s a strange swap. Not because the IS is bad match for a powerful turbo-charged V8: quite the contrary. Japanese tuners and fans of imports have long been using the car as a platform for racing and for drifting. Most of the time you’ll see them sporting straight-sixes boosted through the stratosphere at the drag-strip, or drifting around the race-track with a Toyota sourced V8.
He’s shooting for 600- 650 whp. After looking at his setup, that goal seems totally feasible. So far he’s running 6 psi at 488 hp. Not bad right? Check out the full thread for this sweet IS below.
