New Car Test Drive on the 2012 Camaro
Our buddies over at New Car Test Drive get to check out everything from econo-boxes like  the Toyota Matrix—yup, they still make it—to hot hardware like Aston Martin’s Rapide and Porsche’s Panamera.  So I was curious to see what they thought about the Camaro after getting to flog both the V6 and the 426hp SS models in both sunny SoCal and up in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest.

The reviewer wasn’t all that keen on the interior ergonomics, saying it favored style over functionality, and made special mention of the lack of legroom in the rear seats. Fortunately, there was still plenty of praise for the chassis, the way the convertible top retains the handsome lines of coupe, and the six-speed manual gearbox. But my favorite line from the review has to be this one: “The Camaro SS is humongous fast, so if you’re driving it hard, you’re deep into the danger zone with the law or you’re on a race track. Its throaty exhaust turns heads.” That about sums up the Camaro for me.

Head over to New Car Test Drive to get their full report on the 2012 Chevy Camaro, and let me know what you think about it in the comments.

John Coyle's first memories are of identifying makes and models while driving with his dad. His favorite vehicles smell like gasoline, shoot fire, and sound like buildings falling down. Before he began his career in the automotive field, he daily drove a 1978 Jaguar XJ6 with a fully functional electrical system. He lives in Seattle, Washington.
