The Cadillac CTS-V is the most powerful Cadillac the company has ever built. Using the same LT4 V8 engine sourced from the manic Corvette Z06, the Cadillac CTS-V puts down 640 horsepower, and 640 lb-ft of torque.
Cadillac’s renaissance began when the company introduced the CTS-V in 2004. It was a signal to the rest of the world that Cadillac was back in the luxury business, and that it wanted to compete head to head with the likes of the Germans.
When announced, the LT4 sounded like it was the Chevy motor to end all Chevy motors. It had 650 horsepower, 650 lb-ft of torque, and sounded like an angry thunder god exploding in the night as you pushed harder and harder on the accelerator.
The latest, greatest engine from General Motors is the supercharged LT4 in the 2015 Corvette Z06, but this week’s Dyno Blast video features a 1986 Porsche 944 packing the LT4 engine that came in the C4 Corvette.
Several companies have already seen great power increases in the C7 Z06 by uncorking its intake and exhaust along with using a touch more boost, but as far as we know, Vengeance Racing is one of the first tuners to introduce some ported heads and a cam into the mix.
