Looking to go 10's Hey guys im looking to go tens cam only i have went 11.50's at 119 1.5 60ft. I have 99a ta weighs 3460 f14 cam 3600 stall ls6 intake and all bolt ons 3.90 gears. Im looking to get into the tens cam only . Im just looking for advice to whar i need to change to get there.
Well my car is a bit lighter now that was the last time it was weighted now has tubular front suspention. And qa1s. I still wanna drive it on the street so thats why it doesnt have a 5k stall but was concidering a 4200 stall.
Bigger stall, less weight, steeper gear.
Do you have FULL bolt ons? I.E. FAST intake, bigger tb, pulleys, electric water pump, FTRA etc.
How much power does the car make? That 60' is pretty solid, if you get the suspension setup dialed in you should be able to drop a little time off of that as well.

No e water pump, i have ud pulley ls6 intake ported tb 37lb injectors long tubes cut out. Also have dana 60 rear with 390 gears. Built performabuilt stage 3 4l60e. I think im going to have my converter restalled to 4200.
I would definitely pull some weight out of the car. Get a FTRA or Chris1313 RamAir, it will help trust me. Restall the converter. Get a FAST 90, and some 4:10's. Not gonna be cheap but all those in combination will make a noticeable difference.

I have yet to run a 10 sec pass on a 1.50 or higher 60'. All my 10 sec passes have been in the 1.4 range. All of my 1/8 mile passes have been 6.90s or better. I've run 7.00s which equated to 11.0s. My lowest MPH has been 121. Now, my car is different because I'm a nitrous car vs N/A, but I'm right at the same weight.
Also, not all converters are equal. What converter are you using? How a converter is built depends on how it will perform on the street also. I know guys that can easily drive around in 5000+ stall converters.
You're taking advantage of your gearing by using a 26" tire. Most guys stepping up to 4.10/4.11 gears are running 28" tires. However, I'd say your 3.90s are fine, step up to a 275/60/15, loosen up the stall and hammer it out of the hole.
As was already mentioned, if you're not adding power the other option is to lighten the car. You'll need a couple hundred pounds out to make the difference you need.
