Default Solidly in the 10 second club.

Well boys I haven't been around in a while as I was in the process of my build and I don't talk **** with the GM boys when my car ain't running. Well I'm done and the Mach is running quite well. Still working out the bugs, at only 12 lbs of boost I ran a best of this...

Didn't get that one on video but this one is close...

dude congrats man you are moving pretty good. my buddy slapped a supercharger on his mach 1 and the first time down the track he blow two sparkplugs right out of the heads. not a good day for him. Apparently thts common with pushing a little bit of boost of these cars

Yea there are two different heads in our 4v motors the early ones with 5 threads and the later ones with 9 threads. If you have the 5 thread heads you have to be very carefull about over tightening the plugs and stripping them. I have the early ones but learned about the problem when I got the car so I never had that problem. Thanks for the compliment.

well he had this setup done by a performance shop here in nj that specializes in cobras and fords and would expect them to know not to over tighten them. He was also pushing 20 psi on a stock motor which idk how safe that is but doesnt seems to safe to me. You seem to be running better then some heavily worked cobras. I give you props man.

Thanks bro 20 lbs would be devastating on stock mach pistons and rods. On a stock cobra the pistons are forged and it has h beam rods which can hold 700 hp put 20lbs is definetly on the edge!

Nice run! It sounds like the converter is locking and unlocking going down the track. Mine was doing that in the T/A. I re-tuned and picked up 2mph FWIW.

Yeah, I wouldn't talk too much smack against the GM boys since so many LS cars can better your time with NO power adder, especially not 12 lbs. I know that sounded crappy but it wasn't intended to be. Just saying. Nice time and mph btw. Traction will help you tons.

Dude 99% of the cars on the road don't run 10's so I am in an elite group. I give LS boys their due cause I appreciate any fast vehicle. Power adder or no power adder what does that matter as long as you can continue to do it. Every LS guy that I hang around with has a power adder in addition to more cubes. DO I run with those guys not really I mean my buddy Steve just went 7.9 in his Formula... No street cars are doing that na. I am on this site cause I don't need to be in a Ford circle jerk all time I like to see what the competition is doing. By the way I have the fuel system and motor to run 20lbs of boost so 9's are in the not so distant future. Your car runs pretty well too. Here is a video of one of the LS guys I hang out with.

I'm cool with all that man. Good luck in the cool temps. Put some stickier tires on that bad boy, work out whatever converter issue you have (if you have one), and you might be knocking on the door of 9's.

I had Vengeance Racing re-tune the torque converter lock up. It was set to lock up at like 50 mph on part throttle. I believe. I have no idea what he did, but he fixed it in about 5 minutes. When it locked up at the track after that, it stayed locked. Before it did like yours and locked/ unlocked several times in a pass. Like I said, picked up 2mph with same DA runs.

I know nothing about mustang trans, but I'm sure its in the tune.

Yea the air here is pretty good when it's not 95 degrees and 100% humidity. If your car is the ZL1 it looks great though!

Yea it is in the tune we had it locking and then unlocking during shifts. He tweaked the tune tonight it was 50 degrees and the track was like glue and I made this run...

No doubt, fuel system is at 60% duty cycle, and the D1 is more that capable of 6-8 #s more boost. I am only ironing out the driver mod right now. I wanted 9's from the beginning and I am almost there!!
