Default Time for a rebuild ... what to do to get 10's?

I want to have enough power for a basically full weight 98 Trans Am to run 10's on motor. It is time for a rebuild on the motor too, so what do you all suggest I do to get enough power out of it n/a to run 10's?

An automatic will be easier to make run 10's than an M6. Suspension mods should be on your list as well. There are quite a few guys running 10's with cam only autos and bolt ons (headers, underdrive pulley, ported TB, LS6 intake, tuning).

Weight/HP are the key. What does your car weigh with you in it? Go to a truck stop.

Easiest way would be cam/heads/headers and upgraded rod bolts in a stock shortblock. 402 stroker LS2 would be another option $3K shortblock+ or a 382 LS1 (stroker with stock bore) and upgraded rods/pistons.

If you run a nasty cam you can get there cam only with bolt ons, auto and great traction.

Plenty of posts on this. It only takes $$$$$$$$4
