Default Is it possible?

I've got a buddy claiming to have run a 10.60 @ 127 in a stock cubed and weight LT1. The motor is forged with a pro charger running 12psi. This SS is a M6. This was on slicks! The car is basically a stock suspension F-body. Any info. thanks?

I dont think so unless he is a built LT1 with a DFI and half inch fuel line and a perfect tune then it would be hard but not inpossible. This is just my opinion and Ive owned 2 LT1 cars but thing may have changed.

I run mid 10's at 129-130 with stock heads a cc306 cam and a 200 shot w/ a 10 bolt still in the car... it is a 383 but those extra cubes aint doing much good with stock heads...

I would say if he knows anything about what he is doing and he has a built motor 10s with 12 PSI wouldnt be hard... and Im up to date

8 psi on a bolt on ls1 is good for 500 rwhp, so a built lt1 with 12 psi should be over 600 rwhp, which would be enough for a 10 second pass so it sounds like hes telling the truth.

anybody doubting a forged lt1 on 12 lbs of boost can't run tens is flat out wrong. 12 lbs on a stock motor yield at MINIMUM 450rwhp with supporting mods...if he hooks at all, he's got no trouble making a 10 sec pass.
as far as forced induction on lt1s, i'm VERY up to date :-)

He must pulled hard in 60' like (1.4x) to ran 10's which is hard to be done esp. with S/C setup unlike Nitrous system besides it's a M6 on full weight anyway let him chime in buddy to post the timeslip or to get more info.

peace

Yea I say more info needed because a forged engine could be a forged stock CI lt1, or forged 383, etc, which would make a huge difference pushing 12 psi. However, if he has a built lt1 with 12 psi im sure he is making well over 500 rwhp, and that should be enough power to run the times he states if he can get some decent traction as bad95 stated.

That setup should net the times he is stating, as long as he is getting traction as stated above.

GMHTP magazine did a stock cube 4th gen "shootout" a little while back. there was an LT1 Z-28 with forged pistons (stock crank/rods) and ran 10.80's , on i think 11psi. that was an auto car, it was pulling low 1.5x 60' times.

his raceweight was in the 3,6xxlb range too.

jose at forcedinductions had a guy with a 100% bone stock 95Z28(with roller rockers) and a small turbo (70mm) on 10psi that went 11.03...so I think its VERY possible..the 3rd pass would of been a 10 second pass had the motor not let go.
