need help with gear
need help with gear what do most of you run with m6,ill be mostley 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile ever once in while.my goal is mid 6s 1/8 mile motor,latter bigger motor,but right now i dont want to buy things twice.
I voted for 4.30's but you need to figure out what size tire your going to run and if your going to run nos or not. For a all engine car without nitrous I would say a 4.56 with a 28" tire. With spray I would say 4.30's with a 28" tire.Forget about the 4.10's
with a 26 inch tire, and potential nos use, I'd put 4.10's in the car. 4.30 or 4.56 with a 26 inch tire, you're gonna be spinning that motor to the moon with that small tire and any more then a 4.10 gear.
If anything, I'd rethink the tire size... go with the BIGGEST tire your car will fit/rules allow for your racing plans... bigger tire = more traction. Unless you're trying to go for an SI record or something, where the bigger tire's drag will hurt, which by your cam thread, is not the case.
