Default is this combo going to get me there.....???

hey guys.....

i'm sorry to ask, but i haven't had time to get to a track with the car and not sure if i will at all til like fall. i also have not had the car dyno'd so not sure of #'s either. here's what i've got.......

2950lbs with me
T-rex cam, PRC 1 243 heads(305cfm), Vic Jr & carb
Textralia OZ700 clutch & Pro 5.0 shifter
1 3/4" long tubes, X, F/M mufflers
4.56 gears/spool/27" Hoosier QTP's (probably too much gear, but it'll make up for my non-powershift shifting)
proper suspension work, frame tied, but no cage yet.
Chicago area, not sure of altitude, but it's not the mountains so...

trying to be realistic and just get an idea so i know if i'm getting my hopes up or not.

thanks!

Oh ya. That car is light. I think it will be easy for you. Good luck hope to see that car at the track.

I've always loved the LX coupes. I bet it trips people out when they see the LS1 sitting in a Mustang. Good Luck and good tuning.

thanks for the replies guys. does anyone know if the ET calculators base their figures off of fw or rwhp? i put in my weight and estimated hp of 440rw and 500fw into the one on Great Lakes (Union Grove) site and came back with 10.70's & 10.30's respectively. i'm guessing it's rwhp because i can't see 500 fwhp even at 2900lbs going 10.30's! so i'm assuming it's based off of rwhp so at approx 440 rwhp i could expect high 10's then.

lmk if this estimate seems close. thanks.

I cant tell ya for sure. But we got my buddys notch at 2400lbs with a 357 in it. Cant wait to see what these paper weights go with big hp. Your car is deff. the best set up car you can make. Mad props man! Was it a pain to get it all retro fitted in there?

well, i bought the car with a basic ls1/t56 swap already done, but it had a lot of elec. gremlins and that's what made me start tearing into it. it's really easy to work on space wise, except to pull the d/s head you have to remove the brake booster to expose the last head bolt, but i didn't have to remove the master or any of the lines, not even for the line lock so i won't even need to bleed the brakes when i get it back together again.

oh yea, all the seals were bad on my PRC 1 heads and i'm in the middle of having them replaced and the heads reassembled. when it's done, i will try to get it to a track whenever i can get a chance. as some will agree, once you're married with kids, it gets a LOT harder to find the time to go out and play without them and right now it's too hot to bring them along.

the 4.56 gears should be fine as long as your running 28" tires or better. You will run out of gears if you spray.

yea, no spray but 27's. i can fit a 28, but the car sits pretty high in the rear with them so i sold them in favor of a set of Hoosier QTP 27x11.5's. i may get a set of 28's just for track use eventually, or i may swap gears if i switch to an auto one day.

Practice practice practice. 10.99 without a doubt. And powershift the hell out of that thing. It can handle it.
