Default Knocked on the door... and I'm in!

Yesterday it seems the past 2 years of bad luck with my car was washed away. I have had tons of problems with the car never running well. Bad clutch (from the manufacturer) that wouldn't fully grab; strange tuning issues due to my tranny swap; broken 10-bolt parts; and just dialing it in.

This week we finally figured out that my A/F ratio issues was due to a fuel solenoid that was spraying when making NA passes, due to melted switch internals. YAY! An easy fix. I swapped in a better cam this week also.

So yesterday I finally got some clean passes. Track didn't hook perfect, but I managed a few good ones. On motor I could only muster an 11.3sec. But I got one great bottle pass (timeslip at bottom of this post) on 150hp shot.

Car details:
- 2000 Camaro SS
- Full weight (more than stock even), all accessories (Okay I left the A/C condenser out because I was lazy, but I kept the jack and spare tire in the car, as well as all seats)
- Home built 408 - Diamond pistons, Comp Star rods, HellFire rings, Livernois stg. 2 243 heads, LS6 intake (yup), Futral Motorsports custom cam (243/246)
- Pacesetter long tube headers w/DMH cutout in y-pipe
- 4L80e, Yank PY3600 converter
- built 9" rear w/Truetrac
- Weld Pro Star wheels (bigs n littles)
- Mickey Thompson ET Street radials
- Granatelli SFCs
- Lakewood cheap LCAs
- UMI adjustable torque arm
- el-cheapo Suspension Techniques rear sway bar
- Harris Speed Works wet kit. 150hp shot.
AND VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO MY FRIEND AND TUNER, BLUECAT! THIS GUY REALLY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS TO PUT UP WITH MY CONSTANT NAGGING AND WHINING TO FIGURE THINGS OUT.
THANKS PHILLIP (BLUECAT)!

I ran a couple of 10.7-10.8 passes, but this 10.4 is my big one.

Thanks buddy! I didn't see your car. Must've missed it. I was pretty preoccupied, man.

It was on motor the whole time. The fuel and nitrous spray into the motor. LOL! Just kidding. I use that excuse when people act like motor VS. nitrous matters.

I put it to a best of 11.3x @ 118mph on motor (I'm not walking out to the car to get the timeslips right now). My buddy drove one pass and put it to 11.2x @ 120mph. Just shows how badly the intake or heads is restricting the car since it did so much better on just that little shot.

Thinking...
...with it picking up so much on spray over NA, would a FAST 92mm setup make a big difference for my NA times?

Yea I didn't run it.. ... if I would then it would have spit the rear end out... It's been acting up here lately and I'm afraid it's going to be on the outs soon.

9inch here I come.

On another note, I'd like to see your car with a 92/92 combo. It's running awesome without it but breathing better is never a bad thing.

I would say that there's a good chance that the LS6 is choking your big cubes.

You should go with the FAST 92. I am running a FAST 90 that is ported with a 90 Nick Williams throttle body on my Formula with a 346 CI engine, heads and cam. The best it has run to date is 1.41 60 ft 6.77 at 98.86 in the 1/8 with a 10.75 at 123.10 in the 1/4 NA.

With your setup I think you would see gains!

Track looks nice where is it in Kentucky?

I've been too lazy to order, and been trying to talk myself out of it. I'm a wuss, and gas prices have me pretty ticked off.

The track is Clay City. Close to Lexington. Track prep actually sucked that day. My 60' was the best of the day as far as we can tell.

Hey man. Still haven't decided. I like the idea of 9's at full weight. Might add another 150 shot and see what we get. I just have to do it in one pass since they'll never let me run 2 passes without a cage. LOL!
