Default New TBSS "Cam Only" Record Holder

On October 14, 2011 my 2006 Trailblazer SS broke the "Cam Only" record for a TBSS. The previous record was 11.97 @ 109 with a 1.54 60' (~450'DA). We were able to squeeze by that with an 11.951 @ 111.42 with a 1.628 60' in ~1000'DA. The weather is getting better and with many more things left on the table I have no doubt that there is more in the truck. I plan to find it.

My current mods are:

Vengeance Racing VRX3 Cam, 226/228, .585/.588, 114
Yank SS3600
Comp springs and pushrods
FAST LSXRT 102 Intake Manifold
Kooks 1-7/8" Catless, Magnaflow muffler swap
Haines Motorsports 4" Custom Fenderwell Intake w/ 4" MAF housing and Colorado Maf
FIC 42# Injectors
Powerbond Underdrive Pulley
Ron Davis Radiator, LS1 Efans, 160* Thermostat
TR6 Plugs, MSD Wires
PCMFORLESS Trans Cooler
Built 4L70E, 4.56 Gears
Front DJM Lowering Kit
Rear DJM Spring and Shock Kit
Fuel: MS109

Weight Reductions:

True Forged 17x5.5 Fronts with 26x4.5-17 M&H Runners
True Forged 17x11 Rears with 295/45/17 Mickey Thompson Radials
All Passenger Seats Removed
Drivers seat is an aluminum seat with a custom bracket and Hooker Harness
Rear Wiper Delete
Air Pump and Bags Removed
I6 Trailblazer Rotors and Brackets
Spare Tire Lift Removal
Engine Cover Removal
Washer Tank Removal
Jack and Spare Removed


The sway bars, hitch, a/c, door panels, frame, and dash are all still factory and have not been touched. The heads and oilpan have never been off the engine which has 84,xxx miles on it. I shift at 7100 into second, 6850 into third, and lock the converter at 105 in third.

I would like to thank Vengeance Racing for the R&D and production of the VRX3 cam. It puts out incredible power and street manners. I knew it would run great, but this cam has FAR exceeded my expectations. Thank you also for supplying me with the FAST intake manifold. It has served me well.

I would also like to thank Blue Thunder 2 Racing for an incredible tune that performs exactly how I need it to. His customer service is top notch and he has gone above and beyond to ensure that everything is to my liking. He even drove two hours without being asked just to meet me at the track for some fine tuning. I couldn't ask for more from a tuner.


Also, I want to thank Yank for the great converter, Haines Motorsports for the great custom intake, Kooks Custom Headers for just that, and True Forged for the custom drag wheels. Without all the hard work that all of these individuals and companies put into their products this thread would never exist and I would still be slow. Thank you all!!!

Those are Tim Haines' times on the right side of that time slip. He tuned my GTO and his TBSS is CRAZY FAST!!!!!! I know I've drove it!
