Predator's grind has been working well, as has the 228R camshaft. We recently had a 228R camshaft car make 450rwhp with a set of Stage 2.5 LS6 heads & Fast intake. We can provide you with dyno sheets both on the engine dyno & chassis dyno to help you in your decision making proccess.

Not only have the TSP camshafts proven time & time again to be some of the best performers, we also have a brand new valve spring that will completely blow away the rest of the LS valve springs on the market! Look for more info on this very very soon!!

Thanks Jason,

More good springs, that is fantastic, my Platinum PRCs are some of the best I've used. Real good stuff.

honestly, i suggest you look at some of the dyno charts that TSP has posted. look at the torque curves of all the cams. there isnt a huge huge differance. i think you should go with something in the mid 230's range for a decent trade between maximum torque and a hard pulling top end. something like that will be +5 - 10 ft lbs under the curve, but will only give up 5 - 10hp on the top end versus something like an ms4.

I went with something low to mid 230s for a decent trade-off. I can't say I'm cam only but just used unported 243 heads and unported FAST. Full power is made by 6000 and it's carried until 6500.

Results from a cam in C5 will not be the same in an fbody. C5's have much better flowing exhaust. Best thing you can do is pick one person and trust them and go with what they recommend. There are many vendors on here and elsewhere selling cams and all vendors think their cams are the best.

A custom ground cam is always your best choice. Dont look at dyno slips, dyno's slips on a website are a joke when it comes to how much power a car is actualy making.
One dyno does not read the same as another and there are numerous tricks to producing high dyno readings

GO with a proven vendor, someone who has put the research in on more than just paper and a computer program. Paper experts are a dime a dozen.

We spec custom cams for our engine and head and cam customers.

I can spec out a setup for you as well, if you interested let me know. Our builder (HKE) has some of the fastest combinations out there. He was an instructor for SAM as well and knows how to make power from years and years of experience, not a simulated computer program.

^I take it Chrs13 is running your ElToro cam? That most certainly is compelling evidence of its prowess. By those specs, I would definitely call that a true street car; many of the others -- not so much.

Yeap, 230/230 .612/.592 111+2 LSA
XFI/XE-R lobes

Actualy his is a 111+4 but he was uncomfortable with .072 intake clearance so he retarded it 2* to get over .080

Chris did it right, custom Ram Air, degreed the cam etc.. basicaly he payed attention to the details and harnessed every bit of power. Still on LS6 intake, SS4000 Yank, stock tranny, stock rear with factory 3.23s, so there is more into it.
Just stock unported 243s and a 92/92 would put him firmly in the mid 10s, I am confident of that.

I voted for futral. I plan on buying from them and have done alot of research about their camshafts/lobe profiles etc. Supposedly they are real good for power under the curve. The eltorro results undeniably impressive though. It is by far the smallest cam on that list... yet it is on that list. I just looked and the t-rex duration is in the 240's WOW! I wonder how the eltoro would fare in a 6.0 with 11:1 comp??

wow Pred. that curve is immaculate.

to the OP, i do nto see why you wouldnt hesistate to get that cam Pred speced out. thats pretty much all you are asking for. and predator z is one of the most respected cam gurus here.

as for getting the cam ground, not every shop just grinds cams. most (since Crane went out probably ALL) com out from CMP CAMS, so call them to get it with those specs or any sponsor and they will get it from COMP CAMS, either way, same place/grinder.
