I went to Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI yesterday in hopes of finally getting this jalopy in the 12s. I've only had the car to the races twice since 1999 (October 2006 and October 2008) and the thing has been low 13s - ing me to death. My previous best 60' was 2.08, ET was 13.12 and trap speed was 110.64 mph.

The weather was cooperative with a temperature around 35-40 F. The first 2 passes I made, all indications were that I was going to be stuck in low 13 hell forever:

All told, I made 10 passes. There was not a huge turnout, but those who showed up came with some really neat rides (old ZR1 Corvettes/Lexus ISF/Mercedes/Cadillac CTS-V supercharged/Pontiac G8s.....there was even a lifted Ford Powerstroke diesel that pulled 14.3 @ 92mph, along with the usual host of F-bodies and Mustangs. All in all, it was a fun day at the track - albeit a little cold, but I'm really glad I went.

Yeah, it's a little "interesting" launching it with the aluminum flywheel. It seems like there's a very fine line between spinning and bogging out of the hole that I haven't quite found yet. I feel like it did pretty well considering the car isn't really built for the dragstrip (lowering springs/stiff shocks/big sway bars/etc.).
Even taking that into account, the car definitely has an 11 second pass in it. Hell, I didn't take anything out of the car - not even the spare tire/jack. Plus, I have a set of Jet Hot LTs waiting to go on (currently running Hooker shorties).
