Default 1/8th mile track times

Hi, I have been out of the Fbody's for a little while and bought a 98 Z28 M6 back in november. I did have a 94 Z28 so this is my first LS1 car. Our local track opened friday nite so I decided to give it a shot. I only made 3 passes thinking that I might tear something up. Well I did, I got the best of the clutch. My cars mods are LS6 intake, slp lid, LT's, true duals, speed density tune, and some 17" drag radials with stock gear.

1st run:
1.92 60'
8.14 @ 88mph

2nd run:
1.85 60'
8.09 @ 88mph

3rd run:
2.10 60'
8.29 @ almost 89mph

I was trying to launch the car around 3k but it just seemed to bog off the line with the drag radials. On the 2nd run I could tell something seemed different so the 3rd run I didnt do a burn out. I was just really testing it. It still pulled good it was just when I got ready to leave it was slipping badly. First time driving a LS1 car down the track. Not the fastest car but I just like the power these cars make with ac and getting about 23 mpg. What would be the estimated time through 1/4?

later
Josh

not bad times my old H/C camaro only did 93 mph on motor. it was an auto though. put some gears in there and get a heavy clutch but then youll have to watch the old 10 bolt rear end.

Congrats on the return to sweet Mother F-body... glad to have you back.

Great numbers for the first few passes and with a smoked clutch. Clearly it was on the way out even before you could really feel it. Better times to come!

See you at the track...

Thanks, I really hoping to get in the 7.9X range with the new clutch but I might need a different gear ratio to get that. It was bogging pretty bad even when I launched it hard the first two passes
