This is actually a late post as I hit the 12's last year. Back in Oct actually. Anyway, all day i was hitting low 13's and even hit a 13 flat. On my last run of the night I finally hit 12.81 at 111.28mph. I was stoked and very pleased. Of course someone rained on my parade and told me that doing it once may have been a fluke. Unfortantly it was the last run I could do for the night. After a month later I was finally able to go to the track again and I ran not one but two back to back runs of high 12's. This was at Richmond dragway which is 76 ft above sea level. The DA at the time was -50. Anyway, mods are very little. This is on a 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28 with a oem SS hood and aftermarket SS rear spoiler. Mods are as listed, off road y-pipe, SLP LM1, LS1 Motorsport LID with K&N filter and a mail order tune from Frost which allowed the off road y-pipe egr delete and AIR delete. I have the SLP Bilstein shocks and SLP eibach Springs as well. OEM C5 Z06 17x9.5 wheels all the way around using a 6spd with the stock 3.42 gears. The spare and jack was removed. This is also a t-top car as well.
your 60 foots and trap speeds indicate your car could be a LOT quicker with some traction. Get or borrow some dr's for a pass.
also you dont need to wait till the green light comes on to go - your reaction time leads me to believe you waited for green , this wont give you a quicker et but can give you an advantage against the car in the other lane , try leaving on the 3rd yellow next time and google "shallow staging"
i do agree with you on my 60 ft and my trap speed. main reason I havnt tried using DR or slicks is because of the famous nightmare of blowing up my 10 bolt lol. It does have 92k miles on it. Trust me I would love to hit low 12s with the little bit of mods I have and be proud. As far as shallow staging I'm aware of it but everytime I get to the tree my adrenaline sky rockets. My personal best R/T is .098 I believe lol and my Personal best 60 ft is only 2.01. My street tires are the sumotimo htz 2. I get them pretty cheap on a mustang website lmao. Thanks for the info and maybe one day I wont care if I blow the rear and get some DR and try for low 12's.

my 6 speed car has 235,000 miles on it stock internals in engine/trans/and rear , original stock internals - all unopened lol , It wont shift 2nd gear at rpms anymore so I havent taken it to the track myself but I watched the previous owner run 11.9's at 111.xx , dude could drive made 3 passes 11.95,11.97 ,11.99 the no lift shifts caught up with it by the time I bought it 6 months later and a trans build hasnt been a priority in the budget till it breaks lol, he was on street tires but they were decent ones he used for autocrossing normally and he was able to crack into the 1.7's for 60 foots with somewhat conservative 3600 rpm launches , this car has no rear end whine but again only 3 total 1/4 mile passes on it , yes I know the trap was real low vs et , likely because it only need 4th for about the last 5mph , yes I aksed him a lot of questions lol
lol ya everytime i got towards the end of the track shifting into 4th was a bummer cause it was so short lived. when i first started driving it on the track i tried the very first run to stop shifting in third i was very disappointed when the motor was bouncing of the rev limiter lol. looks like i need to do some math and see what size tire would work so i dont have to shift out of third. I might be SOL though. The tires I have are not the best in the world by no means. Unfortantly I did move and looks like all the tracks around here are 1/8 mile tracks. Guess I will have to focus on beating my 1/8 time.
