Thumbs up Low 12s

I ran my first 12s in late 2001 (lid/K&N, Hypertech/160* t-stat and free mods) and slowly chipped away at it from there with some weight reduction.
Added a torque converter (Pro Torque 2800), trans cooler and a cut out last October to ultimately run a best of 12.2@111 last November/December.
QTP long tubes with QTP Y pipe and LS6 intake are sitting in my basement right now just screaming to help glide my ride into the 11s.

Nice. How much weight reduction? Moderate stuff like the rear seats, jack and tire or other stuff as well? Nonetheless, nice times and you should see 11 no problem. You should just add the TB and pulley to that list and for god sakes put that **** on already.

Yes...rear seats are out full time, jack/spare/floormats/cargo cover, low fuel, skinnies and this time I tried a Hawker lightweight battery as well.
I forgot to mention that I do also now have a TB and pulley as well and they are on the car already.

I ran only twice this year and ran bests as listed in the signature. Hope to better times when go to the track. Little more fine tunning and tricks and I may run an eleven. Bigger cam and I would be there , but that would be cheating

It ran quicker/faster on a weaker sixty foot so I think it's safe to say that if the car was possibly able to duplicate (easier said than done LOL) it's previous best sixty foot (which theoretically should've been even better yet due to the lighter weight of no AIR/EGR and the lighter Hawker battery as well as the slightly higher power from the LS6 intake and ASP pulley) then the car could've seen a 12.0....big if though LOL.
Air wasn't as good on the 12.16 run as it was on the 12.23 as well, though still decent.

Cool, thanks for the reply.

I'm trying to get out of the 12's with my 413 rwhp h/c M6! Our track is not known to be very good (Moroso) so that's a challenge too. My 60's are a shitty 1.9's, and I gotta figure out a way to get that down. Trapping at 117+, I should be an 11 sec car

Yes traction is of course key, all the suspension and tires in the world aren't going to help if the track has that pretty WD-40 launch surface LOL. But the right tire (you need stickier than Nittos) and suspension combo can make up for a lot so I would try to address those areas and then try and get a track rental day together where they can prep the track special maybe.
I've been to Moroso before and aside from personal biases against south Florida racing weather (heat/humidity etc. though I LOVE the area otherwise) that track isn't the most hooking to say the least.
Bradenton on the other hand.

You hit it on the head. For a teflon track, Nittos aren't working, and I'll be stuck in the 12's until I get stickier rubber (MT DR's!) And another good point, I get ragged on for having a 12 sec car with 413 rwhp, but S. Florida is not a haven for personal best ET's. ******* heat and humidity sucks.

Our club rented Bradenton on 12/11, and everyone hit PB's, that track hooks. I had some wheelhop issues that killed my 60 ft's. and my 11 sec attempts. We are trying to rent out Moroso for a night, but just recently some Ford SVT ******** complained to upper mgmt at Moroso that we were getting it too cheap. So now, it may be cancelled. Here's a thread on it if you're bored or want to read some ****...
