Second time racing, first time in 12's
Still learning how to do it. Still learning how to launch.
Car was running nitto street tires, 555r's on an 18 inch wheel, 285-35 same as I drive on the street. Car is a 2002 SS with A4 and stock converter, stock rear.
What seems to work for me is to lower rear pressure to 25psi from 35psi, get good heat into tires. Stall car up to 1800 rpm then floor it, the tires still have more grip so next time I think I will try a 2000 rpm stall. I have been playing around with D3 and D to see whether the tranny is faster in either of those settings, best run came with D3. Mods to car are in sig.
Don't know race weight yet, if it is 3800 lbs (with driver)that would not suprise me
That is a decent 60 for street tires & for being just your second time out! Here's my 2 cents, get a used HPP3 to adjust your shift points higher to take advantage of the upper rpm gains from the cam & 1.85 rockers & headers. Your mph & ET gains should be significant. Hope you see mid 12s the next time out!
