Default 12 Sec. Goat

Hey guys, I am fairly new to this forum and just figured I would post up about my goat.

Its an 04 Impulse Blue Metalic 6-speed.

I installed a G5X1 Cam, Comp 921 Spring Kit, Hardened Pushrods, Dynatech LT's with Cats, Flowmaster Catback, New Era CAI and SLP Underdrive.
The second time at the track with it I broke into the 12's at 12.97 @110.5 with a 2.1 60'.

I REALLY need to get some tire on it so I can get the ET's down in the mid 12's where I should be running with that MPH. When I ran that 12.97 I was on 245/45-17 BFG KDWS's, thats right, a 245 All-season. That would help explain the 2.1 60'!!

I have some New mods in the works, but thats a secret!!

No offense at all, but with all those mods, especially tuning, shouldn't your times be qiucker and speed be faster reguardless of 60'? I mean, I know Goats are heavy and IRS isn't the best for launching, but cam, LT's, other supporting mods, and a tune I'd think would net mid 12's and 4-6 MPH faster.

Well, you also have to consider the following:

Dynos lower than an F-body due to drivetrain loss
Weighs more than an F-body
I am on 245 all seaons

Couple all 3 of those things with the crappy 60's and it makes for the time I have. I KNOW that with some tire I will be able to get it in the mid 12's at the MPH it is currently at. Also, I have only ran at IRP and that track SUCKS since they do absolutely no prep on test and tune night.

That is a great time on street tires. Get some nice DR's and those 60' times will go way down. Good Luck
