Default would this make it run 12's?

i have a 2002 z28, 100 % stock it ran 13.24 at 105 mph with street tires and 2.004 in 60'. i just put in a b&m stage 2 **** kit, micky thompson slicks and straight pipes, would it run atleast a 12.9? or would i need to add like headers and a tourqe converter also?

Default 12's

hey man that might do it. The problem is that those stock a4's engage at about 1400 rpm so your not taking full advantage of the traction. I seen a guy with your exact setup go from a 13.3 to a 12.84 with only a 2800 stall. So if you want guranteed 12's a stall converter is the way to go.

P.S. be careful with those slicks and that ten bolt rear end. Not a good combination.

I agree with 285LT1. I think the slicks and shift kit should make it really close, if not 12's, but a converter would almost assure you a mid 12 sec run easily, maybe even low 12's, especially on those slicks, but be careful with the rear.

If by straight pipes you mean a cutout or muffler delete, that will get you close. What size are the M/T slicks that you'll be using? In my case, I used ET streets. They slowed me down by a 1/10 because of the extra height of the 26.0x10.5-16 compared to the stock 25.7" tire (245/50-16). They may help you though if you're having traction problems. According to your 60' time though, it doesn't look like you're having traction problems.

If you're wanting 12's and still claim stockish, I suggest the Free Ram Air mod, Throttle Body Bypass, descreening your MAF, and pulling out the air filter at the track. You'll only have a few bucks in mods and you'll definitely feel the difference. Nobody will know that you have a mod or two either.

check out installuniversity.com for some other free mods.

You should be there, my car with a lid, cutout, a tune and free mods ran this on bald street tires.

On a cold fall day I ran a 12.95 before I got the headers.
I say you run it on a cold day this fall and you got 12.9*
