Default Interesting experience getting here

Well after being stuck in the low 13s range for about half a year, I got my z28 to run the time in my sig at Sacramento raceway. But it took some time to figure out the problem.

What was wrong was a good amount of my header bolts you could turn with your hand.. that helped alot! Also on several occasions my collectors had cracked and at one point came all the way of the headers...not helpin! What I think also may have played an role in this was that two of my wires weren't connected to my coil packs all the way (i could snap them in) but i had never noticed it before.

My 60' was a 2.08 and my 1/8th was an 8.30 @ 87 mph. My previous 60's were 2.2s and 1/8ths at 8.5-6s @ 84-85 mph. I found out later that I had made that run with one of my collectors cracked again so I wonder how much I could pick up with that fixed and a TUNE. Also both of my remaining 02 sensors are failing.

How much HP do you think I gained from getting these things fixed? I had my car dynoed like that so I wonder how much higher it should be. What do you think it is possible to run with a tune added to what my cars done so far?

Thanks so much for the help!

If & when you get everything fixed, you should be in the mid 12's for sure. Welcome to the club.

My friends (who own mustangs) fail to think my LS1 will ever be faster than an 03/04 Cobra so my goal is to beat one with as few mods as possible. I think with these problems fixed that realization shouldn't be too far in the future! i hope.

Hey Rob, get a tune. I gained 12 rwhp and almost 20 lbs of torque with similar mods. Besides it's better for the car.

If a tune was less than 500 dollars, it would be done already!

Keith @ Force Fed Performance told me I could see around 20-25 rwhp with his tuning and with the condition the car was in when it was dynoed. I guess my knock sensors are too sensitive and are retarding my car at peak hp. Not bad time for how shitty my car is running I guess.

I have a question. If i get lets say a mail order tune in my car, and a set of new corvette 02 sensors, would I have a good chance to hang with a bone stock Terminator? My friends don't think so, but I'm curious.
