99 FRC Vette @ Houston Raceway Park

99 FRC Vette @ Houston Raceway Park I bought a 1999 FRC about a month ago, 42K miles and stock except for a GS Performance air intake. Made a couple of passes at Houston Raceway Park today to get some baseline runs. DA was +1362ft, car with 3/8 tank of fuel weighed 3125lbs, with my 275lb butt weighed 3400 even. Feathered the clutch at 3000rpms and quick lift shifts. Here's the results

330ft- 5.521
1/8th- 8.394 @ 85.84mph
1000ft- 10.858
1/4- 12.930 @ 110.35mph

Yeah, I guess I've been blessed in that every car has been a good performer. I made a few runs at Evadale and had a best of 13.19 @106.70 w/2.11 60ft. I knew I needed to take it to HRP to get the #s. Got that run on the 2nd attempt, good trap mph too!
Hey, I'm over in Israel right now. Did'nt get a chance to talk to you before we left. Will be over here for six weeks on a mission trip. Will be back on June 17th, see you then.

Yeah, quite a bit of difference there between the two. The Goat has about 55 more hp but is about 600 lbs heavier or so. That pretty much equals out the hp/weight ratio. Amazing how close the cars were in performance though. The Goat 12.932 amd the Vette 12.930. The Goat was on Drag Radials and cooler weather about 60 degs, and the Vette was on street tires and about mid 80s temp. The Vette also had about 5mph more on the trap speed.
We're here in Israel now, boy its been toasty! Last three days has been around 106 degs. My big butt might shead a few lbs in this heat
