finally into solid 12's
finally into solid 12's i finally dropped my T/A into the 12s after being stuck in low 13's.
i was running 315 nittos at 22 psi, heat them up with a brakestand for about 4-6 seconds, you want them to smoke at least thats what i kept hearing so i did it and it seemed to work. im still on the stock 10 bolt, so while i wasnt spinning much, i wasnt launching like i could with a real rearend and some slicks, but o well. stock 3.42 gears and just slipping it a bit from like 3,500-4,000 and it would bite, i laid all the way into it.
2nd gear, i flipped the nitrous switch and the WOT switch and window switch took over for me.
was spraying 125 shot. other mods are a 224/224 cam, supporting valvetrain and then long tubes, ORY, catback, ram clutch and the basic bolt ons.
dynoed 326 on a dynojet.
i think i could have hit a high 12 without the nitrous, all though i woulda taken all night to work that launch perfectly.
here were my 4 runs in the order i went...
13.6 @ 106 w/ 2.2 60' - no spray shakedown
12.9 @ 115 w/ 2.1 60' - shakedown run on spray
12.5 @ 117 w/ 2.0 60' - best run
12.5 @ 117 w/ 2.0 60' - hit it again, pretty consistent but i gotta launch better

ya i really think with a 1.8 or better 60' the car could go somewhere in the high 11's but o well im stoked about the trap speed regardless.

If you don't ahve to drive in the rain allot, after the nitto's burn off try some MT's and you will hook allot better guarenteed. It very much sucks driving them in the rain though, actually can be a very dangerous situation if not careful. None the less though, not bad time and great trap speed. It will come, hood up and dip into the 11's.
