Question Needing a little help with my 6.0 swap....PCV routing????

I am putting a 6.0 in a 99 Camaro (Formally a V6). I am needing to know where the hose that starts at the front of the LS6 intake goes. Also, the 6.0 has a vacuum hose that is supposed to go in the valve cover to comes from the brake booster. Anyone have any info on any of this? Or anything else I am gonna run into?

The brake booster hose connects to the large fitting on the back of the intake,, as far as the fitting on the front of the intake,, Are you talking about the two vacuum ports on the passenger side, The one on the intake goes to the PCV system, the one on the throttle body goes to the passenger side valve cover. Hope this helps

Ok. Sounds like I need to get some new valve covers. My place is on the drivers side back. It is just a hole. That is where the truck brake booster line goes. I guess I just need to figure out where everything is supposed to go and go from there. I wonder what the difference would be if I just hook up the brake booster to the valve cover. I mean, vacuum is vacuum right?

No, there is no vacuum in the valve cover. The brake booster vacuum line must go to the fitting on the rear of the intake manifold.

The fitting on the valve cover is part of the PCV system.

I used it to show what goes in the left valve cover.

The PCV system under the valley cover is better. It's on my list of mods to do.

I guess I need to get some LS1 valve covers. I was just gonna buy some sheetmetal covers but didn't know what to do about all of the vacuum lines.

Also what about the gold tip coming out of the front right side of the intake? Where does that one go?

Sorry about all the posts but I'm just trying to get this together.

The brake booster vacuum hose goes to the large nipple in the center at the back of the intake manifold.

This is a LS2 manifold but it's the same setup:

Could I just plug it off? I thought that line went to a canister that was part of emissions. That should be the last piece I need and this thing is running.

The 99 V6 car had it also. I'd think if you leave it out and disconnected, it'll throw a code in the PCM. Also, the line to the tank would need to be plugged up.

Yes, you can cap the port on the intake manifold.

What are you doing for the PCM & wiring harness to convert from V6 to V8?

Well the PCM isn't figured out yet. I have an 04 silverado PCM that I am going to use and the engine wiring harness is out of an 01 SS.

I already have the line going to the fuel tank plugged. I'll just put a cap over the intake plug. I appreciate all of this info! You have been extremely helpful!

I am going with a set of aftermarket sheetmetal covers. Anyone have any install pics. Thinking of how the vacuum lines go on it.
