Popped out of 5th, got stuck in 6th...
I just got done removing the trans/clutch. The clutch is shot (or close to it, what do you expect for 89k miles on stock clutch). The flywheel is glazed and there's barely any meat on the plate, but I wouldn't think that would cause the 5th and 6th gear symptoms. I'm probably going to take it to a local T56 shop here or send it to TDP. But I'd like to know if anyones had/seen similar symptoms in these trannys and what the issue turned out to be. My guess is the synchros but I'm not sure.

There may be collateral damage to the synchro and 5th or 6th gears.
Pretty standard stuff.
