I called the local auto parts store and asked them for Gates p/n 25526. This is a Vulco Flex II Coolant Hose, which measure 1.75" dia. X1.5" dia. X13" length. They didn't stock that hose,, but they had an equivalent hose made by another manufacturer. The hose fits great and there is a 1/2" gap between the hose and subframe.

For the upper radiator hose I used Napa p/n 9006, which is a little short, but I have an oversized radiator (about an 1.5" wider than stock).

I didn't pick up on it at first when I was at the show, but when I saw the gold covered seats I remembered it was his, plus that "little" TVS2300 sitting on top of the engine. Do you know what caused the crease on the top of each front fender?

Progress lately has come to a stand still due to work, kid's, summer projects and procrastination. The major part of our lanscaping projects is done. Now all I need to do is put in an irrigation system with times, which shouldn't be too bad and hopefully I can make some time to work on the Camaro.

Here is the finished product...

Here is a mock up of the cold air intake setup using 4" pvc pipe, since it is cheap and easy to work with. It is shame the pvc couplers/fittings weren't so darn ugly or I would make the whole setup using pvc. Once I decide if I want the 90 degree elbow coming off the throttle body to be silicone or stainless I will order everything....hopefully this week.

As I was mindlessly sanding away on the car today I was wondering what was going on with yours since there hasn't been any updates for a bit.

The patio looks great! Did you do the work yourself?

Thanks. It was hard to do, but I paid to have it done and I am glad I did. It took a crew 3 people about 2.5 weeks to complete and over 50 tons of brick, ca6, sand, etc.

Thanks......hopefully I can get back to "building" here soon. Between the heat, work, kids summer time activities and a healthy does of procrastination the build has stalled.

So what year 2nd gen? Care to share any details?

I checked out your build. You have a very nice collection of vehicles! I have really been wanting to get a 70-72 Chevy pickup for a daily driver, but I don't think the wife will go for it until I get the current restoration done.

I made it a priority to go out and work on the car for a few hours this weekend. The main focus is to get the ecm/tcm installed and the wiring done in the engine bay. I am also going to secure trans crossmember, connect the shifter and install the drive shaft.

I am also thinking about installing a
ScanGauge II ScanGauge II
to monitor the engine. Does anyone have an feedback on this device?

That's what you have to do it seems, just get out there and do something even if its only for 30 minutes.

I've heard about those ScanGuage deals in the past. For a brief moment a few years ago I was concerned about getting better gas mileage and was looking into "hypermiling" and a lot of the people that do that use those gauges as a way to help get the most fuel economy from changing their driving habits.

How true! I didn't make as much progress as I would have liked this weekend, but I did order some much needed parts, pretty much finalized the layout of my fuse panels circuits and chased down some ring terminals. Hope the weather will cooperate and I can make some progress before vacation at the end of the month.

I will probably get one, but I am in no hurry as I need to focus on getting the car running.

Thanks! I have been following your build thread. The Valkyrie is going to be a handful when your get it going

I finally received and mocked up my cold air intake setup. For now it will get installed as shown. Once I get the car running I will trim the intake tubes to fit a little better and paint them poly silver to match the accessory drive. Total cost for the setup was about $225.

I also got my II Much Fabrication Fuel vent. This vent will eliminate any issues with venting an EFI tank along with the gas odors/puddles many complaining about.

Looks like you made a good choice with the intake. Did you come up with a way of supporting the end of it yet? Any plans to make a heat shield to block it off from the engine? I am going to get around to doing that one of these days...

That's a nice vent, I've seen it on the PT site and wanted to pick one up as well. Let us know how it works.
