Patrick, I have a 01 Z06 it will have a varaaram intake and lg lt's. Running cam only should I use your cam specs or change it slightly because of less weight and differant ratios in the trans?

Get in touch with Thunder, you have stock heads so specs will vary to maximise DCR with your chamber CC.

What gains would I expect to see over my Hotcam on an otherwise stock engine/exhaust manifolds?

looks like you're already making 350 lb-ft @ 2600 rpm. I don't know that you would gain much over what you already have.

I have dyno results and they are very good! I'll have to decifer the information, scan my dyno sheet, then post some comparisons. Problem is, I have logs from 3 different Dynojets so I won't be able to do any overlays. Also some of my dynos were done in street trim (like today) and some were in race trim. I'll sort it all out and post up.

In a nutshell, the 224/228 110LSA cam was better 20-40 rwtq than both the 233/234 112LSA TRak cam and 234/238 114LSA XER cam in the mid-range and equalled the XER cam on peak power while only giving up 2-3 rwhp to the TRak up high. Exactly what I was feeling with my butt and exactly what my logging software was telling me.

OK, time for me to throw my 2 cents in. I'm really impressed with the LSK lobes and all the effort put forth by Patrick G. in figuring out what was best for his combo. I also noticed (and correct me if I'm mistaken) that his combo is made to turn more RPM's than mine and probably 80% of the guys on here.(forged internals, M6, AFR small bore 225s, Mamo ported FAST 90mm intake, NW 90mm TB, and EFI Live MAF-less tuning, just the short list I'm sure)I don't have half the luxuries that he has....but what I do have is LT's, SLP D/D, and 3.42's behind a stalled Auto (Fuddle 3000, 2.0 STR) along with the obligatory free mods. Also at the time of the cam installation, I'll be putting on some Dart 205's and an LS6 intake. Obviously, the cam that he chose wouldn't be right for me, but what if I stepped it down a notch to a 219-223 ground with the LSK's. I don't plan on revving past 6200 RPM's. Would this work better for me, or should I step it down one more notch to the 215-219 on LSK's?? I'm sorry, but I don't have the necessary software on my computer to figure out the DCR and also the cam timing events so that I can compare all of these combos on my own.

Gearhead: You can put Patrick's cam on a 108 ICL (2 degrees advanced). Another option would be 219/223 109 108. That will put tons of torque into that 3000 stall and be done by 6200. If you are raising your compression a lot with the dart heads, you may need to watch your DCR.

Thread posted in dyno section:https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/502157-224-228-637-639-110lsa-cam-dyno-results.html

Disclaimer:
The following info is a little messy because I've dynoed on 3 different dynos in varying forms of trims (street and race).
My best previous dynos were running the Thunder Racing TRak cam (233/235 .644/.598 112LSA). On a nice crisp October morning, I got an exceptionally good dyno (SAE corrected) from Racing Solutions that was 472 rwhp/420 rwtq. When I dropped the catted y-pipe and ran open headers, I gained 6 rwhp/8 rwtq. Dropping the belt gained me another 9-10 rwhp.
Before the RSI dyno, I put down 455/402 on Thunder's dyno (through catted y-pipe and 85mm MAF) and later in Feb '06 I put down 466 rwhp/410 rwtq with open headers and no MAF on Thunder's dyno. Had I run my catted y-pipe, the numbers would have dropped to 460 rwhp/402 rwtq.
In March, I swapped to a Comp XER 234/238 114LSA cam as an experiment and returned back to the RSI dyno. Through the catted y-pipe, the numbers were 458 rwhp/400 rwtq. Sadly, I could not duplicate the stellar numbers from October. Was it an exceptionally good correction number that day? Who knows.

To average things up as best we can, let's throw out the October dyno and look at the dyno numbers that seemed to be repeatable:
Typical numbers for the 233/235 .644/.598 112LSA +2 cam through catted y-pipe in pure street trim were around 461/402 rwhp
For the XE-R 234/238 .598/605 114LSA +2 cam through catted y-pipe in pure street trim were around 458 rwhp/400 rwtq
Today, I went to MTI and dynoed my new Thunder Racing Torque Series 224/228 .637/.639 110LSA +0 cam through a catted y-pipe in pure street form and put down 459/410 rwtq.

Here's how the numbers compare between the cams (averaged):
.......TRak cam..XE-R cam..Torque Cam (rwhp/rwtq)
2500...130/290..128/270...150/320
3000...191/335..183/320...200/350
3500...247/370..233/350...247/370
4000...289/380..282/370...290/382
4500...343/400..338/395...345/402
4800...367/402..366/400...375/410
5000...383/402..381/400...387/406
5500...419/400..416/398...428/409
6000...455/398..453/397...452/396
6300...461/384..458/382...459/383
6500...461/372..458/370...459/371
7000...454/341..452/339...446/335

And here's the dyno sheet:

Nice gains under the curve! What timing changes and fueling changes did you need to make?
