No heat what to do w/ ports? Rad hose?
After seeing the heater hose thread it made me think about my situation. I will not be running heat or A/C in my car so what will I need to do with the heater hose ports.
Do I just block them off or do I need to run a loop?
Chevelle guys w/ BRP style mounts what rad hose part numbers are you running? I saw a Silverado and it looked like the upper hose might work any ideas?
Thanks

Steath.. I was able to use a stock 99' Camaro lower hose.. Still searching for something for the upper.. I looked at a few Truck and Tahoe ones, but they either did match up well or were the wrong size.. post if you find something.

Subscribed. I'm curious about this as well, pertains to my project.
I was watching the S&P video, the nipples that are on the water pump just pull right out with some vice grips and a little jiggle. You can then thread the hole to whatever size you want and run a loopback. Doesn't sound like a "clean" look though, so I don't want to do that.
Having enough problems trying to decide what radiator I can buy. Sounds like you are about where I am - down to the fueling and cooling.

My car is the same also. What I plan on doing is removing the nipples thread the holes and use plugs to seal them up.The ones Im planning on using are for intake manifolds.sbc to be exact they are chrome with a allen head in the center. Hope this helps you out.Tim

I've asked this question before and someone said to loop it.
But looking at the pump closer, it seems one could just block them off. They aren't a positive flow path for the coolant. One barb is referenced to the high coolant pressure side and on is referenced to the low side. Blocking it off would just force more coolant through the motor, nothing more.
I am going to use 2 pipe plugs on my mezeire for the RX7, since it doesn't have heat either.

No heat and A/C is not bad unless it's your DD. Both my GMC S15 and my 70 Impala were both lacking heat and I made it through more Central FL summers than I care to count

Yeah I'm crazy. I am just planning on sweating until I install it after winter. Oh wait it's Florida we don't have winter. My budget is currently directed towards go fast goodies. Does anyone have a tap that is big enough for these holes? It looks like the larger one is about 3/4". Any idea what size they need to be tapped to?

My Nova dosen't have A/C,and I used to drive it mostly to work in July/Aug, vent windows kick ***!!
I might have a big tap, I did my BBC intake, S

where I live in Florida we def dont have winter....even at the coldest i can remember was in the 50's at night.....so VERY rare did it ever hit the 40's but as soon as the sun came up....60+ all the time it seems. I have heat but no A/C. I have never used the heat, but as long as I dont get stuck in bumper to bumper...no A/C is no big deal....roll the windows down and cruise.

I remember seeing a post on this topic previously.
I think it was Speartech who said they used a molded hose for motors they tested. There even was a part number given. Now that search is working (or I think is working), I'd suggest searching for it, it was fairly recent (within the last 2 weeks) and in this forum (Conv & Hybrids).

I'm not 100% that it was Speartech, but it was a shop not your average homebuilder.

I looped it with 3/4 goodyear hose from autozone and cut 5/8 hose and worked it into the 3/4 hose and clamped it all together. I'm flintstoning around with no: a/c, heater, power locks/windows, cruise control, and a bent rear fork. All that matters is going forward with good gas mileage and speed.

OK. After a long hard search I found it:
I looked up the part on a GM parts site and it is technically a: DESCRIPTION: HOSE-THRO
So is this really needed? I think it is the easiest solution, but is it necessary? Can they be blocked completely?
