I can take some tonight of the wheels on, showing the adapters. I'll shoot a few close-ups next week when they come off for my Pro-Stars, as I have a track day on the 29th.

Sounds good. I'm just curious to see how they work with the stock bolts. Pic with the wheels off is what I'd like to see.

hey, awesome write up man! I love the C6's but i hear the knock-offs way significantly more than the OEMs. I was worried about finding quality spacers to use until i found this thread!

as I look at your installed photos i see the rears have a great stance, flush with the fender... but the front's look like theyre a little tucked into the front fenders. Can u take more pics, along the side, to show how the offsets have your wheels spaced?

thanks again for the great thread.

FWIW, I would like to mention that the spacers pictured do not have a flange on them around the opening in the center of the spacer like the axle hub does. This flange (or ridge) is what keeps the wheel centered on the hub. The lug nuts just secure the wheel to the hub. I have seen custom adapters made which have this flange and I believe they are an improvement (safety-wise) over the adapters without the flange.

Why run a tire thats over an inch taller than the stock tire height?

The 295/35/19 is a 27" tire, a stock 275/40/17 is 25.7 or so. I recently put 19x10s on the back of my car and went with 295/30/19s that are 26" tall.

While the 27" tires may work on your off road rig, it may not be an option for anyone who wants to lower their car.

The additional sidewall can help the ride in rough areas and prevent wheel damage.

Okay this might be a stupid question, but I'm not knowledgable in the area of rims. On www.tomzwheels.com they have a C6 replica setup (18x8.5: offset +56 and 19x9.5: offset +63). Would these rims fit on our cars without modifications? The site says that they will fit 92-02 Firebirds but I don't know the correct offset for our cars. I ask this because you said that the offset on the 19's you bought was +79 I think. Thanks.

Hub-centric and wheel-centric rings...not flanges.
The inner diameter of the adapter (facing the hub) should have a larger diameter step that fits over the hub. The wheel face of the adapter should have a ring extending past the adapter surface that mimics the hub face. The adapter is centered on the hub and the wheel is centered on the adapter.
Hub-centric and wheel-centric.

Good info. I'm thinking of running the 19x10 replicas all around. Since I'm **** about the fitment I think I'm going to get all 4 with the 79mm offset and then run adaptors on all 4 corners. The 79mm sits in about 1" more than most replicas at 56mm so I plan to get maybe 1" up front and 1.5" rear, but it's not set in stone. I'll probably wait until I get the rims and them mock them up to see what looks best and then order the adapters accordingly. This way I can have total control over the look and fitment.

I'm also thinking about running the 275/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear tire. Here's a mock up I did using VenomWS7's car. What are your opinions on this idea?

Yes, but it doesn't sound that great an idea.

Does anyone know where you can get 3/4" adapters for the rear? EZaccesory used to carry them, but don't any more. I know Skulte makes them, but since they are hand made, they are double the price.

I didn't bother to read pages 2 or 3, but I agree with you about Andres Skulte. He runs a very good business with a very good product, and he really knows his stuff. I am running his spacers on my third gen to fit my 17x11 ZR1s. He is very reputable and I'd tell anybody who is in the market for some wheel spacers to give him a call, he will get you set up with whatever you need. Hope you got the wheels mounted, I would have opted the route of spacers before I ever thought of cutting up such a rare car.
