I tried to slide the transmission back as far a I could but I'm limited by the cross brace on my skid plate. As it is the engine is about a inch in a half away from the firewall. I'm not sure if the skid plate is diffferent between a tj and a yj. But a new slid plate cost some $$$.

Gremlinsteve- I used wiat4meperformance.com. It cost 83.10 to have the PCM reprogramed. I recieved the PCM back five days after i sent it out. As for the harness, I'm the using the one attached to the engine. I'm going to remove the wires for the EGR, a/c and rear o2 sensors.

since nothing is going on i think im going to order an external fuel pump

the walbro 255lph was the first thing i searched for on ebay, all the results said "acura intergra" as if this pump was great for it... ???

is the 255lph still good enough?

can anyone recommend an external fuel pump that will get the job done

I bought my 255 off ebay. I did a search for wrangler fuel pumps. I think it cost less than $90.00 dollars. I'm glad I purcaced an internal fuel pump, when I had the pump out of my tank I notice that there was a ton of crap in my pastic tank.

Wrangler/LS1 swappers, What is the status on everyones projects?

I finally have the engine resting in its new home. It fits like a glove. Now its time to start connecting things.

Does anybody know where the tube coming out of the top of 4l60 goes?

haha ya i know what you mean about the harness. yesterday i basicly cut 100 wires off the jeeps harness. if everything works still i can be labled as a genius because thats alot of wires

does anyone know what to do about the alternator? it has a plug on the back of it that basicly tells it how to function, without this the alternator wont work....

how are you suppose to get around this?

Tube coming out on the top of the tranny is the vent. If you are going to be doing any deep water crossings I would advise extending this up to the firewall at least.

I picked up a HD HP44 and FF D60 for mine last weekend. Got my 231 to dana 300 doubler last week as well, now I just need the right 231. Got a cable driven throttle body/intake to pick up this week. Time to find a welder to make some mounts, and a fuel cell and Ill be close to firing up.

Motor is ready, wiring/computer is ready, waiting on getting tranny back. I have been swapping in my Dana 44 rear, I installed a lift kit, and I have been taking care of other small things, to get ready. Once the tranny is here, I start fitting, welding, and final install, then wiring............

i cut all the wires im not using off my jeep harness(im only using coolant temp. and oil pressure sensors, alternator and a few ac connections)

put the engine in and marked where i will weld in the motor mounts, but im still unsure if they are good because the marks were made without the transfercase installed... because the damn stupid adapter company hasnt sent me my adapter

TXjeepTJ, I am going to second ElkyRacer's question, why not pick of a GM transfer case? It is going to be a lot cheaper than an adapter. For example, I picked up a NP241 a couple months back for $50. GM used the NP231 in the S10s, and the NP241 in most all of their '90+ 1/2ton trucks. Most are driver's side drop too. So long as it was bolted to a 4L60E, it will bolt up to what you have.

i bought and paid for the adapters and mounts today...went with advanced...still, they did say that it would be about n2 weeks tops for delivery for me..if it takes longer, i told them i was going to cancel the order and drop the credit charges...that costs them monies..still, they persisted in saying that tops was 1.5 weeks out on certain parts and it would be here.......we shall see.

good question...the alternator should eb able to be used...use the gm plug and splice into the stock electrical system...

how about a detailed write up on what wires you kept, and lost....maybe a wire diagram and what year your jeep jeep is?

first off just wanted to say that novak- adapters said they are shipping my adapter out this friday

i basicly got rid of all the wires, except lines going to fuel pump/transfer case and my temp sensor and oil pressure sensor -- also the alternator wires and ac wires

tonight i mounted the trans. cooler to the radiator- should i spray paint it black so its not as noticeable? or does it look cool cuz its different?

also, heres the jeeps oil pressure and coolant temp. sensor in the ls1 block, for the oil pressure i use the existing threaded hole where the ls1 press. sensor was and i just got a bolt that screwed into it and then drilled a whole in the middle of the bolt and threaded it to the jeeps oil press. threads and size- im using my jeeps pcm for guages only

for the coolant temp. i got lucky and lowes had an adapter in the plumbing section that fit my exact needs to put the jeeps coolant sensor in the ls1's 2nd coolant sensor spot
