Default New final number on my setup and Yella Terra Ultra-Light results

I have been having fun going back to the dyno after each mod. I expected the rockers to show no gains, except maybe 1 or 2 hp which is not really measureable, just got them for reliability.

People have been asking the question a lot around here, so I went back with that being the only change. Preload was set to the same as before as well. Fueling was also the same.

5 hp from about 5400 and up

Here is what I ended up with, just played around with some fueling and timing, now that I finally had some time to mess with it. Only thing left is to get the fueling leaner at 4200 to get that dip to a minimum.

480 rwhp
437 rwtq

No smoothing on graphs to take out false peaks at the end of the run.

Not bad. So what else is the benefit? Quicker rev or anything?

Yeah, I figured less deflection and roller tip would be the only advantage, and that it would not have helped that much. I will take 5 hp from a reliability mod! haha

Great info Mike. Can't wait 'til my new mods are installed! Nice report. Glad you gained power.

congrats Mike. Those numbers are crazy, especially for the conservative dyno.

thanks man, between that and the 13/15 loss from the rear (22 ft lbs loss at 3000 rpm), this little cam is doing pretty damn good for me

They are more rigid, so you get less deflection (which I cannot say that the stockers even do deflect, just an assumption based on the design), they have roller tips, and from what I hear, I dont have to worry about losing the needle bearings and finding them in my motor lol So pretty much, better valve train stability.

Also, forgot to add that they are 1.7's as well, so stock ratio

All of the above is true hence the additional power gain.....some of it simply from reduced friction at the higher RPM's.

Good info Mike.....way to do some real R&D of late.

And its nice to make some more power in addition to adding some reliability. While I haven't had the time to do my own independent test similar to yours, I had a hunch they would be worth a few ponies.

Cheers,
Tony

Thumbs up

These were the 6645's correct?

It's not surprising the gain yielded; I expected as much if not a tad more.

Less friction and better design, as Tony and others already stated, would naturally lead to less parasitic loss; hence the 5 pony gain

I can't WAIT to put mine in now

Yeah you were about dead on with what you though I would gain when we talked haha Tony is the man

I wanted to go in assuming nothing, so either way I would be happy
