Default 1.50 60' on Koni's

I did have double adjustable Afco shocks in the front with double adjustable QA1 coilovers in the rear with a Wolfe drag/anti roll bar in the rear and the best 60' I had cut with that setup was a 1.58 with front sway bar unhooked. I switched to Koni's because I wanted the car to handle better on the street and put the stock rear sway bar on with the front sway bar unhooked and I cut a 1.50 60'. Both of these times the tires I was running were 28x10.5x15 stiff sidewall Hoosier slicks. I was definitely shocked and impressed with my 60' with the Koni shocks.

I appreicate you posting this John. I'm saving the link so I can point folks to it the next time I hear how you can't drag race on Koni's.

Thanks again, and your bars are packed and will be on the way tomorrow!

They are set on Sam's recommendation for the street and I never changed them when I went to the track.

It helps when you go to a supercharger and put down 900HP. I would think that if you still had your old set-up you would have gone faster. To pick up .08 by adding 400hp is not to hard.

Either way, a 1.50 60' means that car is hooking well enough

I asked John if the setups were the same other than the shocks, he told me they were. None the less, hooking is troublesome and that much more power probably didn't help the traction as of 60'.... Like DuronClocker said--Either way, a 1.50 60' means that car is hooking

Only change from before when I ran the car is yes I have added a supercharger to it and now changed to Koni shocks. I feel the more power your car has the harder it is to put that power to the ground.

Thanks for the clarification. And from what I recall, your car wasn't really slow before (since you were on slicks and all).

Maybe you can adjust them and get in the 1.4x

Good to know now I had always figured they didnt' hurt launching that much, and looks like it might help

I love my Konis!

Yeah, I'm sure softening up the fronts would help a bit too.

What springs are you running and what were the settings exactly?

I just threw my Strano springs and Koni DA's in the other day, so far I love it!
Still need to dial in the settings though, still have to put some miles on it and see what I'm looking for exactly

He has stock springs on the lower purch. Still 400 horsepower is alot more than before. Full slicks help with hooking.

Had the slicks before. And something tells me even with "just" 400hp he wasn't leaving with his foot flat on the floor before, and most certainly not now.

The point here was simple. Koni's clearly don't kill your drag ability, can we just leave it at that?
