Default confused on the interface still (timing)

I ordered my interface today and talked to one of the hsw guys about it. And wanted to make sure i would be able to pull 10+ degrees if i wanted to of timing with it. He said i would be able to but i had to set up the iat table properly for it to pull that much how do i do this? Im assuming the tuner should be able to do it with software or something? How does this work?

well it came today and i do understand it a little better with the directions but im still confused as to how i am going to be able to pull more than 8 degrees? I might just give hsw a calll tommrow and see whats up.

If i set my iat to 158 per the tuner, i should be able to pull 8 degrees. But if i want to pull 10 what should it be set at? Also in the directions it says something about setting it to -8 on the correction table and that lost me??? Also if it says to set the retart switchs to 15 then that would mean all of them on correct? As well as setting it to 10 on the interface i would just put 2 and 8 switchs on right?

if your stock tune has 8 degrees of retard available via the IAT table...then the Interface can give you 8. If you want more than 8 you need to get HP tuners and a laptop and change the IAT/Timing retard values in the PCM tune. Or get a local tuner to do it for you.

Your lucky with the Z06 having 8 degrees available in stock form. I believe us F body guys get 3 degrees. Of course if you have HP tuners or some other tuning software its easy to change.

Got ya. So if i change my iat table i should be able to pull as much as i want?

Like take an ls1 motor on the table in the directions a 158 iat i believe with all switchs on will get you 8 degrees i believe how would you get more as it looks like 158 iat is the highest setting

I did a short how-to with screen shots of my Z06 and the changes needed to run what ever pull you like, and even a custom curve can be done, meaning a little more pulled at tq peak then add in some back as approaching redline. if ya can't find it, let me know, it's in their intro thread and shouldn't be to hard to find.

Disclaimer: I have currently, nor in the past, no connections what so ever with HSW. I have only talked to them one time, to get a tracking number for products I bought with my own money from my day job.
