installed ls6 intake... need some help

I just put on the intake and it started right up. Now my oil gauge is not working and check gauges light stays on. I also have this bracket and three screws that i'm not sure where they go... Can anyone help me out why the gauge isn't working and where this bracket goes???

I already took it for a spin and it shifts and drives great..

check the oil sending unit you might of broke it. that part i do believe is for the fuel rails

Hopefully you're lucky and just forgot to connect the oil pressure sensor, it's a pain to replace with the intake installed.

its the black sensor sticking on the rear of the engine, just behind the valley cover

The bracket is to hold the Cam sensor wire/harness. it bolts on to the driver side Fuel Rail mounting bolt.

And good luck with the oil sensor.

No and yes. If the sensor is broke its a good chance it may leak. Yes if want to take that chance. I found a good way to replace it with the intake on is to buy the oil pressure sending socket, remove the coil packs on thedriver side un plug the sensor place the socket on it with a small breaker bar . Once you get it loose you can use your fingers to fully unthread it. Replace it is a little tricky. I used a small pice of string tied to the top of the sending unit and held the other part of the string through the top of the socket, and I hold the sensor in the socket while I locate the hole. Once I find it finger tight the sensor, I dont rember the tq specs I usally give it half a turn from finger tight. Sounds like alot but its fairly simple.

I checked the oil pressure sensor on the back of manifold and it's definitely plugged in... Sucks so it leads to the oil sensor unit.. Can I pick this up a AZ or O'reillys?? If not, how much does it run??

edit* AZ carries them.. Is it a pita to fix this sensor unit??

If I were you...I know it sounds like a pain in the ***.....remove the intake and start from scratch, check the wires thoroughly...if they are okay then it will be that much easier to change out the sensor...just my .02.

read the above posts on how those guys replaced it...when i broke mine i just took the intake back off, its easy for me though cuz ive had it off so many times...i wouldnt want to change it with the intake still installed major pita

ohh and i guarantee the black part broke from the metal base...cheap plastic and its happened to soo many on here when replaceing the intake for the first time.

Go with one from Chevrolet. My BorgWarner sending unit sucks, bouncing alot. Get a oil pressure sending unit from harbor freight.

got the intake off again and my sending unit is definitely cracked

Hopefully this time I'm more careful back there with the brake booster hose

Got the new oil sensor unit on but how the hell do we slide the intake back without cracking it?? The brake booster hose is in the way...

Does the braker hose go behind the oil sensor unit -which sits between the decent gap from the rear of intake and the brake booster hose??

Yep slide the booster hose over the sensor and slide the intake back in.

just did exactly that and now looks like sliding it back shouldn't be a problem now..hopefully!

Thank God all gauges work now... Starts up and idles perfect!!!

haha this wont help them...theres a million threads on this and most say something about a little black thing towards the back of the intake....everyone usually reacts like wtf is it, and then they find out because 90% of us have broken it...it should be a sticky if it isnt but then ppl still wont read it in time..

glad its fixed for ya though
