Default Building a stroker from scratch?

Well I think I may save the money of pro-streeting and doing the heads on my 6.0l and start with a shortblock and build a big power NA stroker. I wasn't sure where to start this thread so I chose this section. I am thinking about going with a 454 shortblock from texas-speed. Would I be better off doing a bare block and buying a rotating assembly? I will also need suggestions on the heads, cam, converter, and so on.

Sounds similar to what I'm goint to get from Texas Speed. I'm going to have them build me a LSX 454 long block for my car.
I'll keep an eye on this thread for any hints that come from it.

Unless you are doing the machine work and assembly yourself, it's better to just get a package from the shop. They have experience with the parts, know the little quirks about them, and usually give you a better price when it's all said and done.
