Default Accusump User Feedback

I would like to get some feedback from Accusump users.

I am about to order an 24-016 - ACCUSUMP 3QT HIGH PRESSURE with the 24-273 - ACCUSUMP EPC VALVE 35-40 PSI, the 24-200 - ACCUSUMP MOUNTING CLAMPS 2/3 QT, and the 24-705 - ACCUSUMP INSTALL SANDWICH KIT FOR 97-04 CORVETTE.

All this is going in a 2006 GTO, so there is a compromise on the plumbing kit.

But, I would like to hear about reliability, trick mounting positions/locations and any helpful comments from users and owners. It does not need to be an Accusump brand, but people who have used external emergency oiling reservoirs. Maybe a Moroso brand user.

The reason for this is to eliminate the enlarging of my current oil pan for road race use. I can fit six quarts of oil in the engine now, so to enlarge the restrictive space for an extra quart may be more work and cost than just installing an Accusump that guarantees protection. The factory pan already has a good baffle around the pick-up, and the crankshaft has a windage tray.

Mine's a 3-quart Canton, and it's worked for me under a lot of circumstances, road racing, autocross, hi-speed runs, etc. No feedback on the GTO as mine's a G-body.

I use a non-bladder type of pre-oiler (cheapy version). Pre-oilers will save you from oil starvation during long high speed turns, as well as, sharp quicky high speed turns. Pre-oilers are always a great idea for racing applications. Have seen well set-up engines blow from what was belieived to be oil starvation on high speed corners. This could have been prevented by having either a very large capacity oil reservoir or a pre-oiler. Accusump = great way to go

The term "non-bladder type of pre-oiler" throws me. Can you please describe this more?

I found a firm from Australia, GD Race cars, that sells a 9 liter GTO oil pan with drilled and tapped holes for coolers, external oil sources, turbos, etc. Problem is, the cost is over $1,500.00.
