Crankshaft Balance Question

Crankshaft Balance Question Ok, long story short... I have about 12k miles on my rebuilt engine (stock pistons/rods/crank, rotating assembly balanced) Well, (again, long story short) my crank thrust bearing got worn down through to the steel backing and ruined my crank's thrust surface.
I just bought a new crank (from an 04 gto with about 10k miles on it), would it hurt anything to put this crank in my car without it being 'balanced' like the original was by the machine shop? I still have the heads on the car and was just wondering if this would hurt anything (not looking for impeccable peak power or anything, I just want the damn thing running again... lol) Thanks in advance

I would balance it, but that's just me having to know that's it good to go. I'd rather balance it and have peace of mind, than to cross my fingers whenever I drive it.
Did you find out what caused the thrust bearing to fail? Are you using an aftermarket converter/clutch?
