Heat Cycling?
I have a new LS6 motor. I'm getting conflicting info on heat cycling. Some say do it, others say it isn't needed. The group in this forum seem to be more knowledgeable about GenIII/IV motors than the average cat. So my question to you is...
Do I need to heat cycle the engine a few times before breaking it in? Or can I disregard that and beat on the motor after it has fully warmed up?

If I know the tune is on I give mine a few WOT runs as soon as the oil is hot. It actually helps the rings seat BETTER.
Some say you need to heat cycle the springs but I am not a believer of this. I doubt they will ever get as hot in your engine as they did in the manufacturing process.
