need help inHg vac I'm trying to find out why my engine is consuming so much oil. What I did was, make a plate with a hose connected to my Mityvac to close the intake port of my 210 AFR head and put some vacuum on the port to see if I have a leaking valve stem seal or other problems with the cyl. # 5 port. What I need to know is, my Mityvac can pull 30 inHg vac. My 396 ci pulls 29.0 MAP " Hg at WOT @ 6950 rpm and when getting of the gas at 6950 rpm I only have 3.38 " Hg.
Is 3.38 " Hg normal, I always thought it should be way more???
What I found out so far is, I really do have a leak in port cyl #5. I'll look into that today and see what it is. In case you think it's the seal, your wrong, they are brand new and not leaking...
