Default lq9 coils. what does it mean that they are "better"?

so i bought a set of lq9 coils for my ls1. my motor came with terrible 97 heads, and crap ls1 coils. i upgraded to the ported and decked 5.3l heads. The new heads have new valve covers, and those needed updated the newer coils.

so i bought first did research later...... kind of thing.I found that the coils i bought are actually fairly bad ***. this got me thinking and i came up with 2 questions.

1 what do i need to do to my motor to take advantage of the better coils?
my motor is already going to be running at 11:1 comp. i was more looking into spark plug gaps.

2 what can i expect from "better" coils? i seen a video that showed how the lq9 where more stable, and burned longer. i still don't quite fully understand what that means. can i expect better mpg? more power? ect...
