Does anyone know if the E38 or E67 can output PWM for the fuel pump?

Does anyone know if the E38 or E67 can output PWM for the fuel pump? I believe they can...but it may actually be the fuel pump controller in the newer cars that makes a PWM signal for the pump based on something it is told to do over the CAN bus.
I've got an Aeromotive controller for an Eliminator pump, but it would actually simplify things more, and give me more control, if I could just use a big solid state relay driven by the PCM instead...more control in the tune.
If nobody knows, no big deal, I'll put a scope on it to see what's going on.
