Cam sensor and tach signal problem

Cam sensor and tach signal problem My tach problem started a year ago. I lost tach (dash and tuner) and had starting issues. I swapped harnesses, PCM, cam sensor wiring, ect. Long story short, I ended up fixing the problem by installing a LS2 style cam sensor, cam gear, and running a new signal wire (outside of the wiring harness) to the PCM. The problem went away, I had tach signal on the dash and in HP tuners and the car fired right up every time.
Flash forward, turbo build, started with intermittent tach failure (dash only) then the dashboard tach stopped altogether (I still have a tach through the tuner). I assumed that it was the gauges and I replaced them. Still no tach. I am throwing a P0343 code for high cam sensor signal. Today I tuned the code not to error out and all the sudden my tach is working fine all the way around,but I am still having a starting issue.
Sensor has to be good because I have a signal at the tuner. I dont understand why the PCM would throw the error code if there wasn't actually a problem with the cam sensor signal. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
