Unhappy LM7 Maincap APR Bolt Broken

I recently added ARP bolts to my maincaps but the interior bottom threaded bolt on the thrust bearing sheard off inside the blind hole. I tried drill and pulling the metal out however it is extremely tight and I'm worried ill break the extractor. My next step was to take it to a machine shop, they said they couldn't get the left-over stud out and that they can't use Time Sert because it is a bottom thread whole. Does anyone have any suggestions on a way to fix this and save the block?

Its perplexing to me that your machine shop couldn’t help you. Try a left hand drill bit. It will turn against the broken fastener and try to turn it outward as it’s drilling. It’s crucial here that you keep the bit centered in the hole. You might end up with a Helicoil here or even an oversized fastener and a re-tap. Either way, this is extremely fixable. Always make sure that you purchase ARP products from a trusted vendor such as Summit. There are many, many fakes out there in packaging that looks just like ARP’s. Seen this happen too many times.
And never mind G Atsma. He gets a little gripey from time to time. Welcome to LS1Tech!
