Default combustion in chamber or piston?

does anyone know if any power gains will be made if you changed where it took place? for example you want a 11:1 comp ratio. would you mill your heads and use flat tops or do you want a bigger chamber with a dome pistion?

Domes tend to block the flame travel, slowing down the burn. This will reduce your power. The proper combustion chamber will make more power.
Dome pistons are for when you need more compression and you can't make the heads combustion chamer any smaller.

GetMore hit it right on the head. A dome is counter productive to the ideal combustion chamber. In theory a Dish piston (to an extent) with a very small head would be the most efficient setup as it eliminates the hot spots, speeds up flame travel and propagation, and also reduces detonation.

I agree, I like the idea of a small combustion chamber, just dont like milling it to get there depending on if it will make flycutting needed.

Small chamber increase exhausts ability to scavenge well, improving intakes breathing window.
