I picked up the same bolts for my install at Ace Hardware. I imagine most hardware stores will carry these in stainless.

WHEW, I finally got through this whole thread. I think there are a lot of people out there, including myself, curious to see the test that John02SS was going to perform.

Thanks for those who took the time to really make informative and pertinent posts. I put my FAST 90 (unported), NW TB, and Halltech stinger on at the same time. My gains were from 399 RWHP/ 390 RWTQ to 422 RWHP/415 RWTQ (the difference between the first and second curves on the dyno graph seen here: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...6biggercam.jpg)

After camming up, my car is currently at 470RWHP/415RWTQ and I was trying to read up on porting options. John, if you ever did the tests post up!

Did you shave your AFR heads at all, curious what compression you are running.

Thanks

Im curious as to how you are 'cammed up' and managed to gain no RWTQ at all. That doesnt sound right to me that you would gain almost 50rwhp but 0rwtq. Is this a typo? I gained 14rwtq (25rwhp, respectively as well) after installing my little 224 cam, and Im sure you tossed something in bigger than that...

Look at the link to his dyno graph. I believe it tells the tale of the camshaft change and how it changed the torque output.

No shaving, running about 10.6:1 compression

I went from an thunder racing 224/224 to a 237/242 cam. I wasn't describing anything about the latest dyno line since the first two described the difference between the intake system swap. As for the torque not changing, I did an ASP pulley at the same time.

At a certain point in time, going to a larger camshaft just pushes the power band up the rpm range. Case in point, he didn't gain any torque, but carried the torque up the rpm window, gaining good amounts of hp.

Fixed x2

Correct, with the 3.90 gears I have, they were crying for a bigger cam to get a much more usable powerband. Instead of dying off in the middle of the gear, the car now pulls til about 7000 rpm. Much more fun for racing!

Also, as I posted before, we did a pulley at the same time- which adds some HP but takes away TQ.

Just an FYI for those with Stocking FAST TB's...

Adjust your cables. I finally got my buddies car to stop sticking after noticing it was a traction control car and it was sloppy on the TCS solenoid. Adjusted the cables there and BAM SOB was fixed. This may not be everyones problem but it could use some attention. It may also only be on cars with TCS that they are sticking on. I dont think I ever found out exactly what cars the people had the these things were sticking on.

Default what do you guys think of this 78mm FAST port job

I purchased this FAST 78mm allready ported from a LS1tech member. (I still have a 346CI on stoch 853 heads.

He told me it was ported for stoch heads ?

I've noticed softness on the bottom end but a nice gain in mid and upper RPMs.

what do you guys think of this 78mm FAST port job?

Thanks

Yeah, Im always furious whenever knowledgeable people share useful information with me too.

Theres plenty of ported vs unported dyno comparisons on this site. Go look them up.

just started work porting my fast 90. I have the lower intake bolted to my AFR 225s on a mockup motor. I have not started on the inner piece. I would like some input on where I need to port the inner piece.

here are some pics of what I have done so far!

I used paper and pencil and made a template...
Was worth about .2 in the 1/4 and about 1.3 MPH over the LS6
